Mr John B Welsh (Snr) Mr John B Welsh - Chairman
As founder of BWA in 1989, John has used his wealth of experience in the Construction industry to guide the company through 17 years of steady growth. He was an employer representative on the board of the Electrical Contractors Association of Scotland (SELECT) and on the SJIB Industrial Relations Committee for over 15 years, a position that he has now relinquished in favour of another BWA director, Joe Devlin. His 'one step at a time' approach has insured a steady growth in client sales and margins throughout the years.


Mr Martin J Welsh Mr Martin J Welsh - Managing Director
Martin joined the Company in 1990 from Balfour Kilpatrick and has been closely involved with his father in building the business over the years. He has held various positions within the Company, including Technical Director, and in 2006 succeeded his father as Managing Director, assuming full responsibility for the day to day running of the business, working with the board of directors to set budgets and achieve targets.


Mr John B Welsh (Jnr) Mr John B Welsh (Jnr) - Company Secretary
John has been with the Company over 11 years and has used his experience as an Officer in the Royal Navy and his background in Computing to ensure the administration, IT, accounting, recruitment and personnel departments run as efficiently as possible. He was appointed Company Secretary in 2006.


Mr Joseph C Devlin Mr Joseph C Devlin - Operational Director
Joe joined the Company in 1991 from Balfour Kilpatrick where he worked extensively in the UK and in the Middle East as an Instrument Engineer gaining experience in all aspects of E&I Project Engineering. Since joining BWA he has been responsible for growing our construction activities and developing the skills of our craft operatives through formal training and on-site exposure to new techniques in construction. He has also been responsible for developing new client relationships and partnering arrangements for ongoing business and was made a Director in 2003.


Mr William Beattie Mr William Beattie - Commercial Director
William joined the Company in 2002 from Wryeburn Engineering and has contributed greatly in the formation of the Engineering Division, which currently has the best divisional growth in the company. His team has produced standards in design used in all our projects that are in line with our BSI-approved procedures. He was appointed as Director in 2006.


Mr Gary Mutter Mr Gary Mutter - Special Projects Director
Gary served his Instrument Apprenticeship with Balfour Kilpatrick and held various Engineering positions with them before joining BWA in 1993 as a Project Engineer. He has increased our involvement with British Energy over the past 14 years and provides our services to them on 8 nuclear stations throughout the UK. He was appointed Divisional Director in 2003 and Main Board Director in 2007.
